Personal Description:

I am a mother of 4 children living in Far North Queensland. My passion is to work with people to make a difference. I believe that life is beautiful and everyone has the right to an education and opportunities to be the best versions of themselves. If I am able to impart just a little of the best of me to be a positive influence in someone's life, I will take that opportunity.

Tuition Experience:

16years ago I started my career as a primary classroom teacher. I moved into special education to support my daughter through her schooling years. I held the position of Head of Learning Enrichment Prep-12 for over 12 years before stepping back into a learning support role. I have taught primary aged students online for the past 3 years and love this classroom!

Tutoring Approach:

My belief to effective education includes the consideration of the whole person. Maslow's hierarchy of needs governs a person's ability to be open and ready to learn. A compassionate heart and respectful relationship builds the foundation for healthy teacher/student interactions. I believe that band aiding is not a long term solution to effective learning. Diagnostic testing is essential to see where there are gaps and to explore preferred learning styles. Targeted programs are essential to fill gaps and to consolidate new concepts. I also believe it is important to be a team with the parents (if person is under 18 years old) to give the student the best opportunities to practise and absorb information and skills.
