Personal Description:

I have been teaching and tutoring for over 20 years and love helping my students develop their skills and confidence, improving their marks so they can thrive at school.

My goal is to do my job so well that my students are so successful and secure in their learning ability that they don’t need me anymore. Results are my focus.

Tuition Experience:

I have extensive teaching experience in early childhood and as a qualified teacher (primary, secondary & adult education).

I have tutored children, teenagers and adults in English, ESL and Maths, as well as helping parents with behaviour guidance techniques for their children where necessary.

I have successfully assisted many ASD & neurodiverse students at all levels, including helping them pass their VCE English enabling them to go onto further study in their fields of interest.

I also specialise in helping adults refresh and improve their literacy skills in preparation for retraining or further education.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to each student is welcoming, supportive and encouraging.

I adapt lessons taking into account each student's needs and learning style and together we work to fill the gaps in their knowledge.

I can devise individual lessons for students or work with them on whatever they are required to complete for school.

From Alen (5/5): We have used Melani over the course of 2020 with our daughter Shantelle. She has been tutoring Year 7 English / Maths. We've had great success with Mel who has adopted a tutoring style that works for Shantelle.
Over the course of the year Shantelle's abilities, confidence & learning have increased enormously. Her Maths has improved next level where she is now at the required level for Year 7. We will continue to use Mel for tutoring services & recommend her highly.

From Lynley (5/5): Melani has been professional, warm and helpful throughout the process of engaging her to tutor my 10 year old granddaughter. Although my granddaughter has only had two sessions with Melani so far Bianca feels comfortable and seems to enjoy their time together. Melani has a good understanding of children with special needs and has quickly established a connection while at the same time understands how to provide the appropriate challenges needed to move Bianca forward with her education.
