Personal Description:

Hi, I’m Megan!

With 10 years of teaching experience and a Master of Education in Evidence-Based Teaching from The University of Melbourne, I am passionate about helping students develop confidence and excel academically. My particular focus is on preparing Year 6 students for the transition to high school, and supporting students with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, dyslexia, and autism.

I am also skilled at supporting students across a wide range of subject areas, helping them prepare for exams, unpack and complete assessment tasks, and stay on top of their classwork. I firmly believe every student is capable of achieving great things with the right support, and I work to ensure they feel empowered every step of the way.

I will be taking on new clients in term 2 and hope to deliver both online and home tuition from my home in Seaford, Victoria.

Tuition Experience:

I have experience teaching both primary and secondary school students, with in-depth knowledge of English, Mathematics, Humanities, and Food Technology. I spent 3 years working with Year 6 students, preparing them for high school, and 7 years teaching high school students from Year 7 to Year 11. My teaching experience spans a variety of subjects, ensuring a well-rounded approach to supporting students at different stages of their learning journey.

I have extensive experience working with students with diverse needs across both primary and high school settings and have successfully planned and delivered lessons that promote student success, fostering the development of both content knowledge and skills. My Master's degree further equipped me with the expertise to design targeted learning interventions that address specific needs. I enjoy helping students with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, and autism, to stay on track with homework, assessments, and class tasks.

Tutoring Approach:

I prioritize building strong, trusting relationships with my students, gaining insights into how they learn best. This allows me to provide personalized lessons that engage and motivate them. I use a variety of resources—digital tools, traditional materials, and hands-on activities—to ensure that learning is fun, accessible, and effective.

For Year 6 students, I focus on easing their transition to high school by showing them what high school work looks like in a manageable, engaging way. I guide them step-by-step, helping them feel confident and prepared for the next academic level.

For students with learning differences, I create a supportive environment where they can thrive. I focus on breaking tasks down into manageable steps, using evidence-based strategies that align with their strengths, and ensuring they feel capable of reaching their full potential.

My Goal:

To build a strong foundation of knowledge and understanding
To equip students with the skills they need for long-term academic success
To provide constructive feedback and clear, achievable goals
To ensure students feel confident and prepared for exams or transitions
To create a positive, supportive environment for all students, including those with learning differences

I look forward to working with your child and helping them reach their goals!
