Personal Description:

I have been teaching for four years, mainly in VCE classes with some junior maths/science classes.

I enjoy all things science, with a passion to spark inquisitive thinking in students. Although a lot of my experience has been at higher level education, I am also able to look at the numeracy and literacy of any student, and determine how we can work together for them to achieve their best.

I am happy to tutor students in the comfort of their own home, as this can often relieve some of the stressors that are attributed to intense learning; I also tutor from local libraries where students can make their own way to the institute.

Tuition Experience:

I have been teaching for 4 years, during which VCE biology and chemistry were my focus. I have also taught 7-10 maths and science, while also being curriculum leader for maths and science. This has given me valuable experience in how best to teach a variety of students with different needs.

Tutoring Approach:

Making sessions as stress free as possible so students are free to learn, to the best of their abilities.

Understanding where the student is in terms of their knowledge, where they need to be and what works best for their particular learning style.

Tailoring tuition for the individual with the use of multimedia, diagrams and mind maps so students can get the most out of the session.

Providing an environment where questions can be asked and answered by the student instead of the student being given the answers, while concepts can be explained thoroughly for the student.

Assisting with any study related issues (how to study effectively) and proper essay/report writing skills, as some students find studying to be tedious or difficult.

Helping with exam preparation for VCE including: properly answering short answer questions by targeting key words, completing multiple choice questions in as little time as possible to maximise time for short answer.
