Personal Description:

I am a Native French Speaker with an academic background and I am fluently bilingual in French and English. I have a native level of English, having lived in English speaking countries for 35 years (in Canada, the UK and Australia) and having obtained a BA and Master's Degree in English. In addition to French and English, I have an advanced level of Spanish.

I also have a PhD in the Social Sciences and have worked as a social researcher, university lecturer and trainer/facilitator. I have been living in Melbourne, Australia for 19 years. I love travelling and meeting people from different cultures and am passionate about teaching.

Tuition Experience:

I have over 30 years' experience of teaching French, ESL and other subjects at both secondary and tertiary levels, and as a private tutor both online and face-to-face.

French Teaching Experience:
I have taught French at secondary school in Scotland, at university in Canada, and in language schools in the UK and in Melbourne. I have also been tutoring privately French to both adults and children at all levels, from beginners to advanced in Australia, the UK and Canada since 1990. In Australia, I have had extensive experience of tutoring French to children aged 4 to 18 years old, including preparation for VCE French and to university students. I have also been tutoring beginner French, travel French, business French, French literature, and French conversation to adults.

ESL Teaching Experience:
I taught ESL to French secondary school students in the UK and have been tutoring ESL to both children and adults in France, Canada, the UK, South America, China, Malaysia, and Australia, both online and face-to-face. I also work as a Lecturer for a business school teaching international students with English as a second language.

Academic Skills Teaching Experience: I have taught academic skills to graduate students at Monash University, including oral presentations, dissertation and thesis writing. I have also designed and taught an online course on Academic Writing and Communication to first year students in a Chinese University. For the past 5 years, I have also been tutoring academic skills, both face-to-face and online, to secondary school and university. students.

Social Science Teaching Experience: I have had extensive experience of lecturing and facilitating workshops in sociology, social and housing studies, human geography and gender studies. In addition, I have been tutoring Sociology and Social studies to both secondary school and university students.

Tutoring Approach:

For French and ESL, I combine a variety of methods such as written exercises, grammar, reading and oral comprehension using written texts and role play scenarios to help you obtain the best level as possible and give you the skills and confidence to engage in conversation while still having fun!. I am passionate about working with you to help achieve your language goals.

For all the subjects that I offer, my lessons are very interactive, tailored to suit your needs, requirements and interests. I provide a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment to help you learn and excel in the subject.
