Personal Description:

I am a University Chemistry Lecturer working in NSW. I am patient, friendly and understanding of students needs.
I completed a double degree in Biomedical Science/Science at Monash University from 2006 - 2011 and completed my PhD in Chemistry in 2015 at the CSIRO and Monash University.
I have had 8 years of undergraduate lecturing experience.

Tuition Experience:

During my PhD I worked as a laboratory demonstrator, classroom tutor and was the first PhD lecturer in the chemistry department at Monash University. Following my PhD I moved to Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, to lecture first and third year undergraduate chemistry and work as a research fellow.
I have tutored students over the past 11 years in VCE Chemistry, Biology and English.

Tutoring Approach:

There are many approaches of learning and as each student is different, effort should be made to discover the students comfortable learning method. My family members consist of 2 high school teachers and a principle, and therefore I am exposed to many different and helpful approaches to gauge students interest and understand their needs.
I begin my first session with a student by exploring different approaches of learning and discussing with the student what suits them best. By the age of 16 they know their learning limitations. It is important to not use a 'one-size-fits-all' approach to tutoring.
