I am a biologist, university teacher/researcher and student support professional, with a profound wish to help individuals achieve their potential in education.
Tuition Experience:
8 years as lecturer/senior lecturer, including teaching foundation biology.
12 years in student support at university.
Have a PhD, Master of Education and a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching.
Tutoring Approach:
My speciality is helping people develop deep learning strategies by using drawing-to-learn approaches. I'll work with you to help you develop your own style of deep approach as you make non-text study summaries that will help you to reinforce your learning, and be a perfect tool for revising for tests and exams.
This approach works well for subjects with lots of content-- biology, medicine, nursing, paramedicine etc. It is adaptable for other study areas too-- all that is needed is visualisation and a bit of creativity, and both of these are great for deep learning.
