Personal Description:
Hello! I’m a passionate and dedicated tutor currently teaching Science at the University of Melbourne. I hold a Master’s degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. This unique blend of analytical and creative thinking allows me to teach a variety of subjects, for students ranging from primary school to university level.
Key Subjects Include:
- Maths
- Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- Social Science
- Music (Percussion, Drums, Cajon, Indian Percussion Instruments)
- Music is my true passion, and as a percussionist, I teach drums, cajon, and various Indian percussion instruments. I am also a regular performer across Australia with my band, blending Indian classical music with Western rhythms, which adds a unique dimension to my music lessons.
Tuition Experience:
As a tutor at the University of Melbourne, I have hands-on experience teaching Science to students from diverse academic backgrounds. My experience spans across:
- Maths: Helping students develop strong problem-solving skills and boost their confidence, from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus.
- Science: Teaching Physics, Chemistry, and Biology by simplifying complex concepts and making learning engaging, leading to improved academic performance.
- Social Science: Guiding students through subjects like History and Geography, encouraging critical thinking and real-world application of knowledge.
- Music: Teaching drums, cajon, and Indian percussion instruments, combining theory with practice to enhance students' skills and creativity.
In addition to teaching, I perform regularly with my band, which keeps me connected to the evolving music scene. This performance experience brings an authentic, real-world touch to my lessons, inspiring students to explore their passion for music.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe every student learns differently, and my approach is flexible and tailored to individual needs. Here’s how I ensure success:
- Personalized Lessons: I adapt each session to meet the unique needs of every student, ensuring they receive the right level of support.
- Interactive Learning: I encourage active participation, using practical examples and real-world scenarios to make learning both fun and relevant.
- Confidence Building: I create a positive and supportive learning environment, helping students feel confident and motivated in their studies and musical pursuits.
- Real-World Experience: In music, my performance background enriches my lessons, offering students a chance to connect theoretical knowledge with live performance.
My goal is not only to help students achieve academic success but also to ignite their passion for learning, whether it's in the classroom or on stage.
